A little while ago I signed up for the cushion swap over at Punky and me.  I posted mine off last week and it has been recieved by the lovely Catherine.  Ive been eagerly awaiting the arrival of mine and today i checked the mail and guess what was there waiting for me!

Isnt it Gorgeous!!!

Im so in love with this cushion, it looks right at home.

Thankyou so much Bec, the time and effort you put into this really shows and i really appreciate it.  Thanks to Vic for organising such a successful swap.  Im looking forward to the next one! ; )

yes, ive been on a bit of a cushion making bender, ive been meaning to make some new bean bag covers but ended up making big square cushions and filling them with beans.  i used some lovely echino linen blends and coordinating corduroy. Pretty funky i think!

Bloggers Quilt Festival

Yep, its that time! The Bloggers Quilt festival is on again!  I love this time of year so many stunning quilts to inspire and gorgeous blogs to discover! A big Thankyou to Amy for hosting such a wonderful event !

This is my entry for the festival.  I made this using a kaleido-ruler and i cant believe how easy it was to put together.  Alternating light and dark value fabrics trick the eye and give it a kaleidoscope effect.  I pulled all of my "boy" appropriate fabric for this with my four year old son in mind and added touches of pink and purple to keep it interesting - he doesnt seem to mind!

I started this quilt in the middle of last year and put it away in a cupboard for quite a while as i wasnt really feeling the love for it.  At the start of the new year i got my second wind and made some more blocks and finished it off.

I used a brand new vintage sheet for the back of the quilt which suits it quite well i think and machine quilted it in an all over stipple.  The binding is a lovely brown cocoa stripe from Kokka.

This was the first time i had experimented with colour value and the effects are quite spectacular in this design, such a fun quilt to make - i highly recommend it!

If youre visiting from Amy's thanks for popping in, and if youre not grab a cuppa and visit here for some wonderful quilty inspiration!
