Happy New Year!...
do you have any plans for this evening?

The weeks leading up to Christmas i was on a crafty roll, but the days following im sad to admit ive fallen in a big heap!  Santa was kind enough to bring me a new machine and im feeling a bit guilty because i havent even really used it.  Ive got so many projects i would like to sink my teeth into but cant find motivation to do anything!  Please tell me im not the only one feeling like this!

I pulled out my kaleidoscope which i started a while back, and im hoping that leaving it out i  will summons up some motivation to complete it.  I was so sick of it when i put it away in the cupboard but i think since being reaquainted i am loving it again! Ive cut some more blocks and wouldnt it be nice to finish before the years out?  Even if its just the top? ....Hmmm ,we shall see!

2010

...its been a good year in all, especially for getting things completed.  Im most proud of our house and kitchen, as well as numerous crafty projects including 5 quilts completed and several others at various stages, lots of birthday and loads of Christmas presents, and heaps of general quilting, dressmaking, crocheting, and embroidery!  It was lots of fun and i had ball and i cant wait to do it all again next year!

The best thing though was entering the blogging realm, i was a bit scared and nervous at first but you lovely folks welcomed me in and encouraged and advised me and i really want to thank you all.  I want to thank all the lovely people who take the time to leave a comment, and i wish i  could reply to every single one...i really do try but dont always succeed so thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog, i really appreciate it and it means a  lot.

Ive connected with lots of lovely people ive never even met and from all different places and  and even made some real life friendships with people i would never have met otherwise.

I want to wish you all and your families a wonderful and happy Christmas , i hope you get to kick back and enjoy it with people you love and most of all wishing you health and happiness for 2011!

Flower Sugar YUM!

I bought some bolts of Flower Sugar 2 from Lecien whch arrived yesterday .  They are so much more gorgeous in person .  I got a good range of prints so if you are interested in some Fat Quarters or even bigger cuts of it let me know.  Im selling it at $18 per metre or $4.50 a FQ.  Ive also got some gorgeous woven ribbons coming soon, the same ones i used on my pretty pillowcases. 

 Im hoping to get a little shop up and running in the new year so come and visit!

Quilty Query

 I got an idea for a quilt yesterday and had to go make it.  Immediately.  I wanted a bunting but without the applique so made up these little flag blocks.  They are very random and if i make it again i think i will make them all the same but alternate direction and that way all the seams will line up.  I do like the randomness of it though. Ive sewed up the top in the gorgeous Dream On fabric range .  I just love these fabrics they hit the spot for my vintage sheet fetish! 

 I do have a question for you though,

Sew and Tell

I didnt think i had much for show and tell

but when i started taking photos

i was suprised at how much i have made over

 the last couple of weeks.

A library bag for a dinosaur obsessed 6 yr old (above ).

I also found a great tutorial for a pin cushion caddy here. 

 This is all hand pieced and a

great project for the couch after hours! 

 Note to self : read the instructions!

This was intended as a gift but as i overstuffed it

 and the middle blew out a bit

 ive decided id better keep it!

A sewing machine cover.

 Since making this i have bought a new machine

 - this now brings my sewing machine tally to ...um, 7

(its actually more than that but they are the machines i do use),

maybe i am crazy?.....

I bought some lovely fabric bundles from Fabricworm,

Cynthia puts these custom bundles together and are good for people like me

who buy a lot of fabric over the internet as you are assured that they coordinate.

Its very hard to match fabric on a computer screen!

Anyway, ive cut it up and started  another kaleidoscope. 

 Its a bit different to the last one which is still a WIP, 

as usual im unsure about my colour choices,

 but i think (hopeful) it will look good! 

 Im planning on doing some

handquilting on this one. 

I crocheted a couple of headbands for christmas gifts.

A really quick and easy project found here using

some lovely organic cotton.

I also made a couple more of these...

An Award ... and a Giveaway!

1. My new kitchen.

After living with this (below) for four years I was able to move into this (above)

 a couple of months ago...it is heavenly!

2. My sewing machine.

I just love this machine, it is such a pleasure to use and is (about) my vintage!

I rescued it from the tip and had it stripped and cleaned and its just like a brand newwy!

3. My children.

I couldnt make a list without including them.  They make me laugh and make me cry,

they drive me crazy ( most days ) but they are very cute and i love them more than anything!

And now for the exciting part I am having a little giveaway! WOO HOO!
