My Creative Space

I just wanted to share these photos of the finished quilt. I washed and dried it and the puckering I was worried about the other day is not nearly as bad as I thought. I am really pleased with the finished result and can report that the Birthday Girl is pretty stoked too!
Happy 4oth "old" girl!
Love you big mobs!

So, you think you can quilt?

I didnt think I was too bad for a beginner but I seem to have messed up a fundamental step with this baby, the most boring and tedious part ( for me ) - basting. Ive ended up with excess fabric between the quilted circles in some areas. I dont know if Im being overly critical of it but it is for a gift and I do want it to be perfect!
On a more positive note this is my "new" crochet basket I bought for $2 at the tip shop. Just looking in there puts a smile on my face!
I also bought this little ugly duckling home. Just ripe for a makeover, cant wait!
And this is a little mirror I made for a friend who generously gave my daughter a beautiful antique dressing table, thanks Gwen!
Hope you are all enjoying your week,
x

Sew and Tell...

Its a little girls 3rd birthday tomorrow so I whipped up a little dolly blanket and pillow this morning. I used some of the scraps left over from this quilt and backed it with a lime green chenille.
Im quite pleased with how it turned out and Im sure dolly and Miss 3 will love it!
Ive also been busy making a hat. Ive been eyeing off these patterns for a while and finally got around to buying one . I made it up in a linen cotton blend and iI dont think it turned out too bad for a first attempt.
Have you tried taking a photo of yourself in the mirror? Its not as easy as it looks!
Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend.

Flea Market Finds

I found this little mirror at the second hand shop and instantly fell in love. She needs a bit of a tidy up - How cute is that shelf? Ive never seen one like that before.
This old girl is my pride and joy, rescued from the tip shop I had her stripped and cleaned and she performs like no other. She is a wonderful machine to sew with and my preferred machine for dressmaking and general sewing. They certainly dont make them like this anymore!
