Flea Market Finds

I didnt make it to the op shop this week but last weekend I scored a few things from our local market including this fantastic crochet book for 50 cents. Its got all sorts of projects in it including a cute pair of slippers ( which I may have to whip up to keep my feet warm in our "cold" weather ). Ive already made a cushion cover out of it ( yes, another one! ) and I love the jumper on the front. I also bought a big bundle of doileys and linens and a stack of china plates .
And I bought this from the tip shop a while back. I love the design of it with the little cow horny bits on the sides. Its had a bit of a dodgy repair on the back but its a very solid chair and Im thinking of making some patchwork covers for it. Do you have any ideas for it?

Have a great week x

This: http://punkysmamma.blogspot.com/2009/10/my-creative-space_08.html is what I did with an old oppy chair, but it had the cushions/base part already, I just sewed the patches over the top, good luck whatever you decide to do with it though.

Love the stack of plates, are they for use or display?

plates are lovely - will you use them or are they destined for display? Regarding your granny cushion, what pattern did you use for the squares? I really like the circle in the square look!

The plates are great. I saw a great make-over of a chair like this. They used a kind of Hessian for the seat and stenciled a letter on it and kept the back exposed as it currently looks in your picture but for some extra strength, added a few panels horizontally. I bet that makes no sense at all - but it looked great. Very rustic.

That book looks great! I found a few that look like that over the past week and can't wait to have a go at some of the projects inside. Looking forward to seeing your slippers.
the book! oh la la...!!!

Great finds. I have a particular weakness for porcelain plates, especially with roses.
The plates are gorgeous , and the chair should come up a treat.
The rose plates are gorgeous... and I can't wait to see the fabric you use for the chair. I'm totally digging black and white for everything at the moment, but somehow it doesn't seem to suit the chair.

What brilliant finds! Love all your linens and that chair will come up a treat. I'd just sand it back and revarnish it and use some gorgeous fabric to re-upholster it. One of your cushions would look so yummy on it :)
Oh my those plates are just gorgeous !
Lovely finds. The rosy plate is adorable. I think the idea of patchwork covers for your chair is a great idea. I have been thinking of attempting some sort of patchwork project - I might just be able to manage a cushion cover! Have enjoyed reading your blog and I'm now your newest follower! BW. xx

What fab finds! I found two of these chairs by the side of the road, and my mum has one from the 60s- I think they might be made by Parker, which is pretty special! Mum had hers recovered and it looks great- I'm still trying to decide on covers for mine too! I think patchwork would look wonderful!
